Irmin Henkel born in Renburg,, Germany 1921 - 1977
- 1939 – 1946 Irmin Henkel studied medicine, study self-taught in art.
Short Artist Biography
1947 – 1951 After one year of medical practice, Irmin Henkel start fulltime painting.
1951 He start living in South Africa; painted number of portrait commissions including portrait of Prime    Minister Dr DF Malan .
1966 Irmin Henkel designed the Verwoerd Memorial Stamps.
1969 Painted large canvas the South African Cabinet of 1961, commissioned by Government. The painting hangs in the dining-room of the House of Assembly.
1970 Irmin Henkel he started portraitist officials South African Government and private commission. He is famous from his portraits art works, still-life, and landscape themes.
