Day one
Our tour starts in Cape Town where you will be collected at the
D.F. Malan Airport. We shall take you on a city tour visiting the Castle
of Good Hope, built between 1666 and 1679. The Company Gardens founded by Jan van Riebeeck
once supplied fruit and vegetables to the Dutch East India Company. Today they form a
magnificent botanical garden. We shall take a walk to the Houses of Parliament. The world famous Kirstenbosch
Botanical Gardens are the showpiece of South Africa. s wild flower
heritage. We shall then go to the Rhodes Memorial, past Prime
Minister of the Cape. This site offers a spectacular view |

Day two
Go on a thrilling car ride to the top of Table Mountain
to see the breathtaking view of Table Mountain across Table Bay. (Weather permitting). In
the afternoon we shall proceed to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Go on a boat trip to
Robin Island, the prison where Nelson Mandela and the co - accused of high treason against
the apartheid state were imprisoned for 27 years. |

Day three
Peninsula tour: To the South of the City we shall be visiting the
Atlantic coastline which is dotted with beautiful beaches, coves and bays such as Bantry
Bay, Clifton, Bachelor. s Cove and Camp. s Bay. Further down the coastline we shall be
visiting the harbor town of Hout Bay. Today we shall drive down the western side of the
coastline to Cape Point and come back via the eastern side. We shall be
traveling over Chapman's Peak which presents one of the country's most spectacular marine
drives, cutting into the shore. s majestic cliffs. Then on to the seaside village of Kommetjie. At the southern most tip of the Peninsula is Cape Point, located in a Nature
Reserve where you shall view indigenous fauna and flora. Walk up the hill to the
lighthouse for a spectacular view. Traveling northwards up the eastern side of the Peninsula, known as the False
Bay coast, you will pass through Simon's Town. Converted into a naval base by the British
in 1814, it boasts some of the Cape Peninsula. s most charming historical buildings. We
shall visit some splendid beaches here: Boulders and Foxy beach, is well known for the
Jackass Penguins that nest there. Fish Hoek further north is a safe swimming, sandy beach. We shall be spending
some two hours on the beach. You may also enjoy whale watching during the winter. For those
interested a fourth day will include the wine route tour. |

Day four
Our first stop will be the Constantia Estate which takes its place
as the first South African vineyard to be planted. Along the slopes of the Boland
Mountains the majority of the wine growing areas of the Cape are found. You will have the
opportunity to sample their produce. We shall be visiting Franschoek, where in 1690 about
200 French Hugenot settlers established a farming community. Then on to
Stellenbosch. This, second oldest town in South Africa founded in 1679 is renowned for its
vineyards and orchards. We shall then go to Wellington which is the centre of our thriving
dried fruit industry. |
