Holiday Inn Garden Court Marine Parade Introduction:This ultra modern hotel, with
its striking Art Deco style, rises in contrast to KwaZulu-Natal's blue skies and dominates
Durban's Golden Mile. Its gleaming white marble facade reflects the rays of Durban's
sub-tropical sun to give guests the greatest degree of comfort. This is one of the few
hotels along the beachfront, where every bedroom is sea-facing, with glorious views across
the Indian Ocean. The hotel is renowned for its friendliness, efficiency and excellent
service. It provides guests with all the essential qualities of a Holiday Inn Garden
Court. There are two excellent restaurants, as well as an attractive bar. A unique feature of
this hotel is the swimming pool on the top floor, over-looking Durban's coastline and

Africa, includes the Marine Parade (Golden Mile), the rickshaw pullers, Durban Harbour,
Botanical Gardens and a glimpse into the Indian culture at the Indian market. A drive

Day five On our last day, we shall do an
early morning game drive, wishing our animal friends farewell. After breakfast we
shall depart via the Panoramic Route to Crystal Springs. Winding across the
rolling hills of the Mpumalanga Drakensberg is the historic route to Pilgrim's Rest. This
road once descended from Lydenburg all the way to the coast, emerging at Delgoa Bay (now
Maputo). After the Pilgrim's Rest gold rush began during the late 1800's, it came to be
nicknamed Robbers Pass due to regular hold-ups of stagecoaches and travelers by highwaymen
and robbers - a name it bears to this day. Now the pass forms part of a very scenic drive
down to the Lowveld featuring endless idyllic views en route to Pilgrim's Rest.
Arrive at Crystal Springs and spent day at leisure. Overnight at Crystal Springs
Mountain Lodge on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. |

|
|
Day six After breakfast depart from
Crystal Springs to Sun City. In
the middle of an extended savannah lies the Las Vegas of Southern Africa. The spacious
entertainment area used to be part of the former homeland Bophuthatswana. The formal
independence of the homeland made it possible for the businessman Sol Kerzner to set up
this complex quite close to the population centres Johannesburg and Pretoria, where,
amongst other things, striptease and gambling are offered, which activities had been
forbidden in the Calvinist old South Africa. Besides that, internationally famous
entertainers like rockstars perform here, who have always attracted many people.
Nowadays Sun City has lost the odour of sin. The name now stands for luxurious hotels,
beautifully laid-out watergardens, excellent golf courses, unusual gambling halls,
exclusive casinos and first-class entertainment shows. The latest jewel in the chain
of casino complexes is Lost City. It was planned in the style of a sunken, legendary
African town. It is beautifully situated and imaginatively decorated.. No wonder that Sun
City attracts more than 25.000 visitors every day. Overnight at Cabanas Hotel on a
bed and breakfast basis. (dinner on own account). |

|
|

Pretoria, check in at hotel. Depart from hotel for a half day Pretoria City

purple haze is must. The first stop is the impressive Voortrekker Monument. From there the
visitor passes the central prison, which housed the gallows, and proceeds to the Paul
Kruger House Museum. On route to Melrose House we cross Church Square. The Union Buildings
gives the visitor a spectacular view of the city. Government Drive houses official
government houses and a host of embassies. Arrive late afternoon at Pride of India
Restaurant, where you will enjoy Indian Cuisine at it's best. After dinner depart
back to Holiday Inn Garden Court Hatfield (or similar hotel) where you will overnight on a
bed and breakfast basis. |

host of other exhilarating rides. Descend down a Gold Mine shaft to level 5 (220m)
underground for a guided tour, watch a 12,5kg gold pour, visit the mine managers
house and be entertained by the Siyagida Dancers. Watch how coins were pressed in the
early days of Johannesburg. Gold Reef City provides entertainment for young and old. Have
